ABOUT ME
I am a 55+ year-old-woman and am adept at working with youthful or mature bodies. In my 40’s I let myself slip a bit because of the loss of a parent. Luckily I regained control of my life and made positive changes. I sought out the expertise of a personal trainer, started eating right and exercising hard. It saved my life. It gave me more energy and made me feel younger leaving me strong and self-confident.
The changes in my life were so dramatic and important that I wanted to help others experience the same success. I decided to make a career change and become a personal trainer. I’m certified by the International Fitness Association and I have been training and consulting since 2007. I have also been a Hatha Yoga instructor since 2008.
At the age of 55 I lost my husband unexpectedly and I believe if I had not been strong in body, mind and spirit, the transition would have been so much harder.
ABOUT WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU
As your personal trainer I will instruct and support you by focusing on the following:
EXERCISE: Exercise serves so many purposes. It burns calories, tones our muscles, strengthens our heart, and increases the function of our lungs. I will customize a routine just for you to meet your needs. My exercise routines consist of cardio, strength training, yoga and Pilates. I promise to keep your workouts interesting, challenging and fun.
EATING: I am a firm believer that diets do not work. They are a temporary solution to a much larger problem. Your way of eating must be something you can live with for life. I believe in a balanced diet consisting of whole foods and lots of variety. I will make suggestions for your eating that will meet your needs and preferences.
HABITS: Bad and good habits can be broken in as little as 21 days. Once the new behavior is repeated over and over again it will become a habit. I will support you in choosing to commit to new habits and make them a routine in your life.
SUPPORT: Studies consistently show the importance of support for weight loss. Your co-workers, family and friends will notice the changes in your body and compliment. I will be there to support on the good days and bad days, which are both important. I will hold you accountable, help you stay focused, provide solutions to stalls and plateaus, and celebrate your success. I will be there whether you need a pat on the back or a push in the right direction.
GET HEALTHY: Eating healthy is more that restricting calories. Food is fuel for our bodies. By giving your body the correct fuel, you’ll get sick less often and you will be able to fully enjoy your life.
